Keeping Onondaga County cleaner and greener!
OCRRA was created by the New York State Legislature to manage one of those vital public services many county residents take for granted - how to cope with those mountains of trash we produce on a daily basis. They are a non-profit public benefit corporation similar to the New York State Thruway Authority, not an arm of the county government. Its Board of Directors are citizen volunteers who devote countless hours to the development of programs and policies for the management of solid waste. OCRRA does not rely on county taxes.
PENNY (People's Environmental Network of New York)
PENNY is a recently organized group in central New York State dedicated to promoting and preserving a clean and healthy environment for all. They support existing organizations and facilitate interactions between them, sharing common environmental and community health goals.
